Dr. Virk

graduated from New England College of Optometry, in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1992. He has lived in the greater Seattle area for 36 years. Dr. Virk established Advanced Eyecare Solutions of Newcastle, in 1995, and of Woodinville in 1996. He then opened Advanced Eyecare Solutions of Bellevue in 2004. Dr. Virk became a fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC) in April of 2007.

He bid adieu to the Newcastle clinic in 2006 and the Woodinville clinic in 2015, but to focus fully on the Bellevue clinic. He wanted to have his full focus at a larger and spacious clinic with the newest and the most advanced technology. He added Orthokeratology and dry eye sub specialty in 1999. He then started helping patients with Scleral lens fitting in 2014.

In addition to specializing in contact lens fittings, Dr. Virk believes in preventive care and is proactive in treating dry eyes, red eyes, glaucoma, foreign bodies and most disorders of the anterior part of the eye. His special interests are in pediatric care particularly myopia control and specialty contact lenses.

Dr Virk is one of the few experts in Bellevue who uses Orthokeratology for myopia control or for vision improvement. Ortho-K lenses are special lenses which reshape the cornea while the person is sleeping. The patient can see clearly all day without any correction in one to two weeks in most cases. It is a safe alternative to the LASIK surgery for moderate corrections.
